The Law in Our Hearts

Today when we use the term “passed over,” it usually means we have been ignored. But in the Bible the term takes on a positive message, namely that we have been granted a pass on punishment. The Passover helps us relive, once a year, how that happens and offers us encouraging implications for living to please God.

The Best Holy Day – Atonement

Is there any way one of God’s seven annual festivals can be “better” than another? Probably not. Each one is the best for the lesson God is teaching. Still, it is permissible for us to have our favorites. Mine is Atonement. Here’s why.

Heirs Together – The God-Based Marriage – 4

While marriage is an everyday relationship, it also looks beyond this life to the goal a husband and wife can both attain in the Kingdom of God. This goal causes a God-Based marriage to become a spiritually beneficial relationship for both parties, as they support each other in spiritual things. For that reason, knowing that a husband and wife are “heirs together of the grace of life,” organizes marriage into a profoundly spiritual endeavor.

Sacrificial Love – The God-Based Marriage – 3

Jesus said that laying down one’s life for one’s friends was the greatest love of all. How does this apply to marriage, when the marriage is God-Based? It’s the most powerful aspect of a healthy marriage. Are you good that this kind of love?

God is a Farmer – Pentecost

Jesus told us his Father is a farmer. Our Father is growing a crop of beings for his kingdom. We are those crops. What’s the import of that? God has a plan and we are a part of it. He is tending to us, cultivating, planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting. In our age, disconnected from the land, this might not mean much to us, but if we want to know what God is doing, we would be wise to learn more about his farming efforts.

Zeroing in on Our Calling – FT

As the pace of life speeds up, the more easily it is to become distracted in every aspect of life. That would also include Christian life. Sometimes it is hard to stay focused on what is important. This presentation, given in September of 2018 at the Common Faith Network Feast of Tabernacles, draws attention back to the reason God calls people into his church. Do you know why God called you and what he wants you to do every day?

Sacrifical Love – Atonement

John the Baptist referred to Jesus as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The sins of the world we know about, but what about the lamb of God? Did you know there is a biblical festival for Christians that teaches us a lot more about Jesus than Christmas?

Time Management for Christians – Part 2 – Prioritizing Time

Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you.” That implies a prioritization of our time, if we want to be successful with God. Learn more about doing this in a balanced way in this presentation.

Freedom in Christ

The Apostle Paul wrote about “freedom in Christ,” a contradiction in terms for many people, who see Christianity as restrictive, the stuff of mind control cults, and, as Karl Marx said, “the opiate of the masses.” What should the term mean to Christians? How do Christians explain it to those who want to know?

Newness of Life

This is the conclusion to the series, Spiritual Renewal. In it we examine renewal as it ranges through the entire Bible. God shows us how to renew and give us special days that mark events in the past and the future to help us look back to be encouraged about God’s involvement in our lives and to look forward with excitement about our future with him also. If you are feeling down, or know someone who is, this is the series for you.
